what i meant was that i only had the vaguest idea that there was even a comic book called ironman, let alone having read it and know what the story is!

Ah indeed. I never read an Iron man comic book either.

I know very little about Iron Man too. I knew his real name was Tony Stark, and everything else I know about him is from playing Marvel Super Heroes. ;D

He added that he had no idea who Iron Man was so he had no expectations for this movie. He was suprised at how gret the movie was and now Iron Man is his favorite hero.

This is pretty much my exact reaction, except the favorite hero comment.
Ill also add that this was my favorite portrayal of a playboy in any movie Ive ever seen, Stark had me laughing out loud several times. I was highly entertained.
And they had a cool outtro, which Im a fan of since xXx.

I just saw it. I liked it. Not quite Spiderman 1 and 2 or X-men. But it's really good. Gwenyth Paltrow is way hot, of course. That certainly helps. There's a lot of really great humor in there. Had me laughing ---my bottom--- off a few times. The end boss was a little bit . . . um . . . ---smurfing--- retarded. But I've got a soft spot in my heart for comic book movies. I can look past these things.
