i met up with a whole buncha guys from aussie arcade last saturday. mostly into pinball, but some arcade machine stuff too (of course, a pinball machine IS an arcade machine but you know what i mean. i even got to play one of spacies creations (",) great pinnies, fun guys. a highlight for me was ryan555's homemade pong. i havent actually played pong against someone since the 80's... most of these machines were wokas, the host of the event. he has a taito space invaders that ive measured up last year to aid my space invaders replica build. also, this great looking Targ cab. if you check the game on mame, its not that exciting. it didnt come with targ, so woka put in defender and an original defender cp, looks the part (",) big ups to mrs woka for putting up with us and even feeding us! |

Cool pics. There are more on AA now. Its a pity I dropped Wokas Galaxian bartop because he probably would have liked to have it there. His should be there in the next couple of days. Looks very cool. Re joystick. Sanwas fit in there, but only just. Those ones on the bartops are a chinese stick and have a very small base which makes it easier to fit in. The microswitches are very clicky but if you replace them with Cherry or similar they are much better. Overall, fine for usage in one of those machines. |
