Looks to me like a reflection of the wall and possibly a fish tank, no ghost. also ghosts prefer to make silly faces for the camera.

Speaking of reflections, I was able to complete the project.  Turns out that when you use a half-silvered mirror, your image is flipped so everything looks backwards... :dunno

You can flip the image in MAME, but not on the 48-in-1 board.  Oh well, not to bad for symmetrical games like Ms Pac, but very noticeable in DK.

I believe there is something you can do with the yoke and/or wiring of the monitor to mirror the image. I'm not a monitor afficionado, so you might want to visit the monitor forum.
