Funny side note
« on: May 28, 2003, 12:02:31 pm »
I had to pass this along as a quick funny.  I'm new to this so I think you guys might get a kick out of what happened last night...

Bear in mind I'm about 150. bucks over budget already building my barcab, and the wife (who to her credit is very understanding) has pretty much put her foot down on buying more stuff. Which of course means I've simply had to smuggle new parts in as contraband..

So.. I'm on the garage, drilling my CP when my wife barges in, a look of rage on her face. I ask her what's wrong and she whips out a baggie of .187 connects and thrusts it in my face.."WHAT IS THIS, EXPLAIN THIS!!! YOU SAID YOU QUIT BUYING STUFF!!!

I felt like a teenager after his Mom finds a bag of wacky tobacco in his sock draw.. I damn near fell over I started laughing so loud, which of course didn't help.

Haha, its more funny when you picture it "on the garage" like you said mistakingly instead of in the garage.  Your wife coming up on roof of garage to throw a little bag of disconnects at ya.  Haha.

Even though I have my own apartment I still have parts shipped to my mom's house cuz it's a real mailbox. Well... she finally asked me what all this stuff was and how much it was costing me. Then my step-dad freaked out when the monitor showed up one day...

Now I just tell them I traded for the parts and they were free.

I know the feeling, I own a town house, but when my parents visit me and see the parts and unfinished cabinet lying around in the spare bed room, they ask me how much I'm spending on it, so I say the same thing.
It beats listening to the "your an adult, stop wasting your all money on useless junk" speech.
My other hobby is restoring a '67 Dodge Dart road race car, so I've heard that speech a lot.
