Ground blocks---where to get 'em?
« on: March 13, 2002, 02:39:48 pm »
I'm planning to drill iteration #2 of my control deck Real Soon Now.  Now, to make it easier to shuffle things around, add/remove buttons cleanly, etc, rather than daisy-chaining all the grounds together, I want to take all the grounds to a common ground block, and from there to the IPAC.

So, I wandered by the local electrical supply shop, and asked 'em for a ground block; they seemed puzzled, and couldn't figure out what I was asking for, even when I explained it.  So, I wound up buying a couple plain ol' terminal blocks, cut a bunch of teeny-weeny bits of wire, and connected all the terminals along one side for the same overall effect.  But it's not as clean as I'd like.

So, to make a short story long, does anyone know a web supplier that has ground blocks?  I'm trying to keep things as neat as I can under the panel as well as up top  :)

Thanks!

I know what you are looking for, I used them on my slot car track.  The ones I used are made by Square-D and I bought them at my local Home Depot.  They are supposed to be used in fuse boxes.  They call them ground bars.

Square-D
3 terminal - sku#741922 $2.98
4 terminal - sku#578142 $3.29
7 terminal - sku#578169 $3.49
9 terminal - sku#741930 $3.98
15 terminal - sku#578177 $4.98

Siemens
14 Position - sku#100146 $5.90
