What is your arcade cab's theme tune?

RetroBorg:
The best song relating to that era was a song called Computer Games by Mi-Sex, I think they were a New Zealand band that moved to Australia so I'm not sure if that song made the charts in USA or UK. Definately worth downloading it if you can. On the Video Clip it showed some footage from the Star Wars arcade game and a black and white driving game my guess is it was probably Datsun 280 Zzzap or something similar. ;D

You could always go with "DO YOU COMPUTE?" by..err...some dork.  80's song that I think barely charted in the US....saw the video on a VH1 flashback not too long ago and was horrified to see the dude who sings it...imagine "So nerdy there's no way this band could have survived".

Personally, anything by DEVO takes me back to the early 80's.........to me DEVO is the early 80's....

Hey ... no fair bashing Donnie Iris.  Sure, he looked like a nerd, but that Pittsburgh native could ROCK.  His signature song, "Ah Leah!", back around 1981, is one of the classics of FM rock stations.  He also did "Love Is Like a Rock" which made it into the top 40.  "Do You Compute" was around 1984, and was a rocking song as well.  He was originally with the Jaggerz in the early 70's, who had a hit with "The Rapper".  I think Donnie Iris still sells out at concerts at local clubs in the Pittsburgh area.

Oh, for the cabinet bootup song, just pick a classic arcade theme song, such as Pac Man or Donkey Kong.  You can't go wrong.  Maybe alternate from time to time.  My kid hears the theme and comes running every time.

When my cab starts up it plays the Pac-Man start sound, and shutdown is Donkey Kong when
Mario "dies".  I also loop custom made ambient arcade noise in AdvanceMame.  As for songs
that remind me of video games I'd have to say any Journey or Rush.  :)  Funspot is a great place
to listen to 80s music and play classic vids!!
