I built a mame cabinet a few years ago, I still enjoy it and my 5yr old son is really getting some use out of it. I've been thinking of starting to collect some of the old vintage cabinets like ms pac man, donkey kong, etc and then it hit me. Why don't I just build one, put dedicated mame setup in it and try like heck to duplicate the original? I saw this cabinet the other day http://picasaweb.google.com/buildamamecabinet/20thAnniversaryMsPacManGalaga and it really made me want to make a copy of it. Anyone out there done a cabinet dupe project like this? If so, post pics of how it turned out. I'm thinking of using a small linux pc with mame of course as well as a 19inch LCD mounted in the same manner as the wells gardner monitors. I've checked mamemarquees.com but cannot find Ms Pac Man art, anyone know a good source? Thanks! Derek |

You might want to browse around a bit here. You'll find this pace is full of people with the exact same idea you had. The project announcements forum is for people building cabs. Lots of examples with pictures. Or go to the front page and click on the Examples page. |

Welcome! If you do a bunch of searching and check the wiki and Examples page you will find TONS of people who have built classic cabs from the ground up. There's even a totally sick Star Wars cockpit replica out there. It's kind of what we do around here! |
