I can't necessarily vouch for the quality of this product, since I haven't technically used it for anything myself... :-\ I downloaded it once to check it out and don't remember too much about it. But it's free, so that fits the bill.

It's called priorities by bruddah... I have an ANALOG (tape) video camera I already don't use,  why upgrade it to digital?

A webcam would work, do you have one of those.  And honestly I don't know of any freeware video capture software that would work.
