My new Mame Machine (resurrecting dead games) {update w/ photos}
MBliker:
Hey everyone, I have been a lurker of these forums for a while now and have gotten a ton of useful information about building my own arcade. So I’d like to thank you all for documenting all of your hardwork. Since this forum has helped me so much I have decided to register and give back to this forum. I have collected all of my parts and have just started to put my mame machine together. The design that I went with was a slimmer machine and has similarities to Knievel’s Neon Mame machine.
The Products that I am putting into this machine are:
Emachines T3642 :
-2.6GHz AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor
-250GB Hard Drive
-2GB of RAM
-Nvidia GeForce 8300gs Graphics Card
Logitech X-240 speakers
HP L2025 20" LCD 4:3 monitor
X-arcade Tankstick
(I wish now that I wouldn’t have bought this because after buying the Project Arcade Book and reading these forums, I know that I could build the controls myself. Well there’s always the next project.)
I have also decided to build a small cabinet to go behind the X-arcade Tankstick so I can access the buttons on the back and also hold two logitech playstation controllers for other games and emulators.
Below is the plans that I’m using and also some pictures of my progress.
Here are the Plans
Picture of the machine, controller and monitor
Picture of cabinet open but not hinged yet
Close up on speaker holes
Back side of speaker holes, where I routed out an area for the speakers to fit

Looks great, but that X-arcade has got to go...
Can they be taken apart and assembled into a new CP?
It looks like you have the skillz to do that.
Good job so far.

I agree with Bobby G,
If Not Ebay it and get the stuff to build your own! They're really not that hard at all! Other then that It looks great!!! Keep it up! I want to see more pics!!

I think I will open it up and take all the parts out and remake the control panel. I will post more pics after the weekend when I have time to work on it again.
