MaLa: Extremely slow animations in Vista?

I've just re-installed Windows Vista Ultimate (SP1) on my HTPC and I've also installed the latest version of MaLa but the animations are very, very, very slow and painful to watch.

I'm using the latest nVidia drivers for my 8400 GS and everything else on Vista works fine (eg. Aero theme, etc).

Can anybody please help me with this?  MaLa works fine on my regular Windows XP machine as well as my arcade cabinet machine (Windows XP).

Please help!

If by animations you mean Videos then it sounds like a Codec Alert.

What codec have you installed.?

Divx = Evil  :-)
Xvid = Good  :-)

Thanks for the reply but I really did mean the animations (eg. when MaLa first loads it fades in and when you quit it fades out, etc).

I'm actually wondering if this has to do with the crappy nVidia 169.25 drivers so I'm going to try the latest beta drivers and see if that fixes it...

Yeah, Try that. I had one PC where the fades were slow,

I am not a fan of the fades anyway and have mine turned off
