That price is for ground shipping taking a couple of months. I'd hate to think what the air freight cost would be. You'd only be looking at around $5000 to ship an entire container. If you filled that up with cabs, say 30 or more then the cost is quite small. Customs.... Difficult to say without knowing where it's going to and where it's from. Also depends on the actual value of the item. All of the above is subject to obtaining quotes.... If you really want to know an accurate cost, then you need to ring around the freight shippers and customs agents. You will get a variety of prices for basically the same service. Nah its not that much. To send a Pinball machine from USA to New Zealand is approx $500USD. From Germany to NZ is approx $600US . There is always extras at the receivers end with clearance fees etc. BTW that Air Freight. To send a pallet from Taiwan to New Zealand cost $230USD. That is up to a cubic metre. ( a midway cocktail is approx .8 cu mt). Its not that bad really, especially if its a machine you really want. |

I once investigated to get a load of drums (musical instruments) from the US to Europe and a dedicated 20' container would have cost me about €1700,- to ship. I would have to unload it at the harbor myself. I'll ask a friend who had a SW cockpit and also a SW upright shipped from US to Europe what he paid. I wonder if there would be a need to pay customs for a 25 year old arcade game, but I'm not sure. |
