Because for what the Ridgeline costs you could almost have an F-150 and a Civic?  And the F-150 is a better truck to start with?

Although it's maybe not the most economically sensible choice.

I thought you were joking at first.  Then I went to the respective websites for these vehicles - Ridgeline starts at $28K and the F-150 starts at $18K.  Granted, I did not look at what comes with either of those base prices.  We've had Hondas (cars) for years now.  They generally come with many of the options you want already in the base vehicle, hence the higher starting price.
