Light Guns ?
« on: September 26, 2013, 10:40:55 am »
Want to order a set of light guns for my build. I'm looking at the guns from http://arcadeguns.com/ and the Aimtrac from http://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html Can anybody recommend one over the other? Main use would be with MAME, but would like to play as many games as possible. Any thing I should know or be looking at? I'm using an LCD TV as my display.
Thanks for any help.

Depends what design you like best, they use the same hardware. I got mine from arcadeguns.com because they had them in stock.

How do you like them? Do they work well? I guess the big question is would you buy them again?

I'm interested in building a light gun cabinet, but from what I've seen the gun games such as Virtua Cop don't work very well in mame. Is there a better emulator for this type of game?

Virtua cop is a sega model 2 game so you might try Demul - if you DARE!

I'm really happy with them, they work much better than I anticipated, I would buy them again in a heartbeat.
I really like the second button placement (gun handle) I haven't tried the ultimarc ones but second button looks hard to reach under gameplay

Vcop 1 and 2 work with model 2 emu, not Demul
