Which Soundblaster Card?
peterpiper70:
Okay, I`ve finally given up on my on board sound and `soundblaster compatible` pci card!!(you`ll know what I mean if you read my earlier post)
I am told that I am best to purchase a soundblaster card and that will work okay in DOS with Arcadeos.
My question now is what Soundblaster card do I need?
Am I best to purchase a creative labs card and if so will any of their cards work okay or just certain ones?
Thanks in advance
Regards
pete
Wade:
I have a couple of jumperless Creative SB 16's ISA. A DOS configuration program sets all the interrupts and settings for it. They worked in DOS mame just fine for me in 2 PCs. But my final PC they didn't work well with - they would make a constant clicking noise whenever 16 bit music would play. I know it was some kind of compatibility with that PC because both of them showed the same problem.
If you are interested in one, let me know, I'd be happy to sell one of them.

Problem is I have a new board so only pci slots on it and no isa slots.
Anyone able to help?
SirPoonga:
find an sb16. those are the most compatible.
peterpiper70:
And does the soundblaster 16 come with the dos drivers?
