Yoke paint type?

Anyone know what type of paint is used on controllers such as SW yokes, RoadBlasters wheels etc?  It is black and almost matt in appearance but has a sheen to it, definately not gloss.

The only black spray(can) paint I can find locally is gloss.  Not the end of the world but it would be nice to try to get a finish similar to the original.  Any tips?

Zebidee:

Hi Min,

You could try applying a couple of layers of Matt undercoat, and use a final coat of *satin* to finish.  You could try testing it first on a similar surface.

I'm almost positive that the original is a powder coat.
We get parts from a powder coater at work, and the finish is the same as the yoke one, but in a different color.

I'd second Zebidee about the flat paint/satin clear coat, if you can find them.
You could try satin over gloss, and see how much it knocks down the shine.
If you paint everything, you won't notice any difference between them.

Thanks guys, I will see if I can get the stuff to try this out...

You might want to try the ALSA spray paint range. They offer lots of mix and match solutions, a few layers of clearcoat will dull down the shine and might give you the effect you are after.
