Shop air setups

ChadTower:

Who has a decent shop air setup?  I'm strongly considering making one - I'm going to be doing a lot of basement framing soon, have a vacuum desoldering station that could use it, will be painting multiple cabinets (vid and pin)... obviously good for other things as well.

I have always wanted to install piping around my garage and workbenches and attach my air compressor to it. Having tie in locations at the work bench is nice because you can attach a 6' hose right there and not have to worry about dragging a 20' foot hose accross the floor. Not  to mention that the extra volume in the pipe will essentially increase your overall volume of compressed air.

If you plan on using it for painting you will want to intall a good filter and a pressure regulator.

ChadTower:

I get the feeling I'm going to have to use a couple of regulators - as the system will eventually have such different devices on it.  It's probably more effective to regulate at the device level than at the source level.

Paint guns require flow regulators, too, don't they?

HaRuMaN:
Regulators?

Oh yeah.

Multiple regulators and on/off valves would definitely be handy.
