Hi guys and dolls, Starting my first mame and cp and was after some help on the wiring of the keywiz. Looked at the Keywiz site and throught the wiki but am still abit confused about how to wire it up. Done the daisy chain for the GRD but how do i allocate each push button and P1/P2 Coin, Credit etc.... to the buttons...am i way over my head if i don't understand this or basic electronics?? |

Each button has a ground wire to it..... and a live wire which connects to one of the inputs on the keywiz. When you close a switch by pressing a button it shorts that input to ground, and the keywiz sees that button as being pressed. The information that came with your keywix is pretty self explanitory... The attached diagram shows three button switches and three inputs to the keywiz are at the left hand side. Also.... These are the connections I made on mine.... IE which buttons should go to which inputs. But do check this against the sheet Randy sent you with your keywiz as I think the ground connection positions may have changed. and some connection positions that were grounds are now reserved. This list applies to the Keywiz Eco No Solder version.... The Keywiz Max has the +5V connection as a solderable position instead. You didn't say which version of Keywiz you have.. 1. +5V 2. GROUND 3. I think i must be in one world of pain then....can you explain then what the letters A-P and 1-8 are for. Do you just connect buttons to any of these and allocate what they do in mame.?? Sorry for dumb questions.... ??? |
