RoninEditor -- these are the real old school if that is what you are indeed looking for. They are my preferred solution and are available from a number of sources.

Thanks for all of these leads guys, MUUUUUUCH appreciated.  I'm so vague on the terminology and all of that, if I could have seen the Happ buttons up close I could have instantly be like, "That one!"  But now I know!! 

Has anyone had issues hooking up the leaf switch ones to the Ipac?  I'm definitely now leaning to the standard Happ ones but the leaf suggestion kinda perked my ears up, especially with the Galaga comparison, haha.
