He has trouble working on his Mac because it's a P-P-Powerbook.

It is a Mac.  If Mac users could handle the responsibility, they'd be PC owners.

Just what I want, to have to have "responsibility" when using a computer. In other words I need to treat my computer like a child of some sort.

A computer should serve you, not the other way around.  It's no badge of honor to have to constantly patch, update, virus scan, registry scan and every other scan.  Screw that.

Macs are great computers.  Overpriced but still great.

You do understand that Macs still crash, like any other computer. Mac software still crashes, like software on any other computer. There's no magic super-power in mac OS or mac software that makes them impervious to programming bugs.

And as for virii, that's just a false sense of security due to being a minority computer. Macs aren't impervious to viruses. The risk is less because virus writers aren't bothering to target that platform. But this is changing. If everyone switched to Mac the virus authors would write em for Macs and you'd be in exactly the same boat.

Yeah!  Screw cars.  Screw homes.  Screw bikes!  Screw your pinball machines.  Screw anything that requires maintenance!

I think I'll do that.  I can live spending my days with a racquetball and a pencil.

Yeah - because there's no possible way to automate all that! Oh wait, most Mac users don't know HOW computers work, just how to click the pretty pictures...

My pc constantly patches, updates, scans, deletes unused temp files and defrags itself - at 3am every day. Guess what? When I go to use the computer, I just use it. And, I've been running the same build on this pc for the past three years plus - works as fast as the day I built it. This is through all kinds of programs being installed, uninstalled and installed again.

To each their own, but just don't give me that crap about how Mac is superior - it used to be, but that's ancient history...
