I agree.  The highlights for the upcoming episodes (3 to go) almost make it sound like they may continue the series.  I know its just their way to get people to watch but one can hope.  Especially if they keep this great storytelling.

shardian:
Just so you know, you aren't the only person I've heard talking that "Sci-Fi" should pick this up. I think the people who run CBS really do like this show, and my feeling is that they would listen to offers of cable networks if they just couldn't justify bringing the show back to network TV. The nielsen numbers for the show are consistent - about 7 million viewers, but the online and DVR numbers for Jericho are through the roof. They've been screwed by something or another almost every week so far. Texas and Ohio preempted the show for election coverage Tuesday night. In other areas, the UNC basketball game ran over and ate into the show.

I also think that dumbass Big Brother show kills their ratings too. When I see that show on, I run for the hills.

Is the second season more realistic than the first one? The first one had some major reality check problems.

Everyone driving around all the FREAKING TIME. Including that one guy with the deaf sister driving 13 miles into town constantly. Where was that gas coming from???? Adding comments about being almost out of gas doesn't change the basic problem that they established that all they had was the very limited supply that was already in the town.

The "Too many peasants in Stars Hollow" directorial style that has 10-11 people crossing the street at all times in the background of almost all outdoor scenes (Gilmore Girls was horrible about doing that same thing, "Wow, look, 1 percent of the town population is jaywalking in front of Luke's Diner RIGHT NOW!!"). Although that is the sort of thing that doesn't annoy you until you notice it and then start looking for it.

One 1st season episode had people GIVING AWAY food to a food drive freely and calmly and then those same people rioting to get at some free chinese rice the very next day.

The ENDLESS supply of candles that EVERYONE in Jericho had.

The overall lack of crime and panicking in the first season was also pretty hard to swallow.

However I LIKED everything related to the kid with the grocery store, he was my favorite character.

Short answer: It's TV - get over it. ;)

Most people hated Dale's story in the 1st season. I think alot of people actually quit watching because too much time was spent on him.

SithMaster:
I'm a new watcher.  I think it's pretty good and I make an attempt to watch an episode on tv.  I've watched one or two of the first season before the second started and i didnt really care for it but the new season interests me.
