Hydra in a Star Wars cab

(1/1)

SavannahLion:
I was flicking through my usual Craigslist when I came across this. It's a Hydra wrapped in a Star Wars cab. For $950 you can buy this conversion. :) For posterity, I've included the listing text and photos.

$950 for a butchered Star Wars cab?

At least the cab appears to be in really good shape. I imagine it would be an excellent starting point for someones project. But I wouldn't pay $950 for it. Hope it finds a good home and eventually lands in the hands of someone who would restore it.

He states he will trade it in for

The SW cockpit to Hydra conversion was a pretty common one (that new Hydra yoke bolted right onto the panel) that I have seen a few times in person and more than a few times online. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a few hundred of them kicking around. They aren't worth reconverting.

If you actually want a big star wars game I would suggest getting a Trilogy cockpit, they are cheaper than the vector ones and a lot more reliable, and (trying to be honest here) the gameplay is superior too.

Actually, for the price of a good SW cockpit you could get a trilogy cockpit AND a star wars upright.

Yeah, at this point in the game, I don't actually expect any converted vector game to ever be restored back to a vector game again. I was thinking if the cab was cheaper, then it might be something worth MAMEing into a pseudo-vector cab.

BTW, looks like the poster might actually read this forum. He's got a new posting:

Looks like he bumped off $300 and included a picture of a Star Wars flyer.  :-\

Oh well, at least he's trying. Good luck on that sale.
