Randy, what is the Novagem light-source ? And does it fit an original Atari trackball ? O, and thanks for the pictures. Is that Red the same color on the Novagem light-source ? I am asking this because many super-bright LED's that are being sold now look more orange than red to me. And I want red. Not orange :D (The red on the pictures looks great) |

--- Quote from: Level42 on February 07, 2008, 02:30:25 pm ---What is the Novagem light-source ? --- End quote --- It is a very high output LED, equivalent to the luminous flux of about 5 of the normal "superbright" variety. Just a quick note here as well: LED output is measured by luminous flux not MCD. You can have 2 LED's with the exact same light output, even though one is rated at 5000mcd and the other at 2500mcd. --- Quote ---And does it fit an original Atari trackball ? --- End quote --- I don't have an Atari, but I do have an original WICO, which I understand to be the same. Essentially, if it has large hole in the bottom, and next to the large hole is a small hole intended for a lighting assembly, yes, it will work. RandyT |

Well, this is the underside of my Atari trackball: There seems to be only one small hole....I put the LED in there (just an experimental set-up). |

The 3 inch version has a much larger hole. |

I have the 3" WICO, so they aren't the same. Yes, you would probably need to drill that one out a bit for best effect (good suggestion.) And as long as you have the drill handy, it won't take much to put a small screw hole next to it. RandyT |
