so are you saying that there is a emulator for the ps1 games available out there.

--- Quote from: RayB on January 31, 2008, 01:02:48 pm ---Arcade freak, you understand that copying games is illegal right? It's one thing when we're talking about long-dead arcade games (still not legal),

its only illegal if you plan on selling it or distribute it...if you wish to copy it for a personal backup then it is totally legal.

 ;D

Not exactly.  It's a common misconception about the laws.  Making a "backup" is not a legal use depending on a number of reasons.  I won't rehash what has already been argued and stated here on the forums millions of times already, but the old "it's legal because it's for a backup" argument is about as valid as "you can use this rom for 24 hours only, then you have to delete it" statement.
Dazz:
It's only legal until you are busted for it...  So, until DMCA comes knocking on my door personally I will continue to emulate systems.  Selling and distributing is going to get you busted LONG LONG LONG before simply downloading it will.
Daniel B.:
PS1 games will not run zipped. You need the iso.

quite frankly though, I'm suprised this thread is still alive...

You aren't going to find many games, past 16bit gen that are playable on an arcade cab. The hardware and software is cheap enough...just buy the damn things.
