gonzo90017:
I have a widescreen monitor and was trying out some of the other skins. But they are all cut off from the top and bottom. The default skin works fine. I tried changing the MonitorAspectRatio to 1.7 and 1.6 but nothing works.

Chris:
The default skin is specifically designed with excess background for these situations.  The CD skins, on the other hand, don't fare as well on widescreen.

There is a widescreen-specific CD skin (cd6-1-ws.skn) that may work better for you.  You may also want to try setting the FixedDimensio n setting in jukebox.ini; if your top and bottom are cut off, setting FixedDimension=Height will letterbox the skin.

Thank you for your quick response. I just tried the ws screen but the text is very small. I tried the Heigth suggestion and that worked great with the cdbox2a skin.

I have a couple of more questions. What are the minimum system requirements for DWJ? I'm using XP.

Hard to say, really.  My low-end test box for XP is a K62-400, but it may be able to go lower than that.  If you can get XP running well you should be able to get the juke running well.  I have heard of WinCab running on a Pentium 166, but that was probably on Windows 98.  DOSCab is reported to work on a Pentium 90, and I've tested it on a Pentium 133.

Classic skins are easier to run than CD skins, as CD skins are constantly hitting the hard drive for art, which could make the music stutter on a low end system with a slow hard drive.  Usually when I see a performance issue it's because large cover art files are used; cover art images should be kept under 100kb in size to avoid performance issues.

Thank you for the performance tips. Have any more? I plan on using something like a 400mhz celeron. I'll reduce the size of my album jpg's to start. I can live without the animations but not without the album art. I wanted to use it with a touch screen monitor that is 7 or 8 inches. I'll take a look at some of the other cd skins to see if one of them has bigger buttons.
