| Do the tokens work in normal quarter coin slots? |

I'm a newbie, but here's my take from what I understand. Technically, if the door has a slot for the type of coin to accept it is a comparitor. You would have to adjust the entry slot restrictor to accept the new thickness (if it has changed). Reconfigure the cradle to accept a different weight coin via the counterweight. Calibrate the magnet to the new magnetic properties of the token. If the token is not magnetic, then the magnet will not slow the coin enough to let it fall into the accept chute. If it is magnetic, then the magnet will need to be repositioned closer/further via a setscrew. It seems like an awful lot of work when you can grab an inexpensive token mech. Of course, you could just bypass the mech and send the coin straight to the microswitch if you want the coin door to accept anything. Hopefully somebody that knows exactly what they're talking about can chime in. I've been known to talk out of my arse from time to time. :blah: |

Thanks for the detailed explanation - you know much more than this newbie ;) I think I will stick to quarters for the meanwhile. |

Thanks all! I will definitely investigate. Those BYOAC tokens are cool, even if a tad pricey (but then again, I have $20 tied up in quarters for my cab right now!). |

Thanks Santoro, I checked this out but my mechanism doesn't have the plastic screw illustrated. I will continue to research and if I find anything will post here. |
