| Magnetic centered sticks, vs others |

I was wondering about the exact differences between a joystick such as the magstick, which are magnetically centered or the sping centered joysticks. Which one is better? Which type tends to be quicker to center. Does the magnetically centered ones have a better feel to them? The games I will be playing involve TMNT and street fighter 2, which stick would be recommended for this style of game? Thanks in advance... |

I purchased a magstik, not so much for it's magnetic centering, but moreso for it's 4-to-8 way switchability. I think a spring-centered joystick feels a little more authentic if you're looking for the arcade feel... |

Thats what I figured. I could always go for an Estick for my first cab as they are easy to install and use springs. Actually another question that s related for all you peeps out there, when it comes to fighting games, is it better to have a long range of stick travel, or a shorter or maybe even medium range? I havent played a fighting game on an actual cabinet it many years, just using console control pads, so I kinda forgot./... |

If you're planning on playing a lot of street fighter, I highly recommend Sanwa sticks. Short throw is better for fighters and sanwas have very small throws compared to HAPPs. They are very tight and precise. |

I might look into that. Any good links on places to buy Sanwa sticks. Did a google and didnt get very far. Then again, this will be my first cab, so I dont need to get all perfect about it. I might just go with Esticks, since they are easy to mount, and maybe in the future redo the CP to include better sticks/buttons... |
