My Scratch built MAME machine (Sparcade!)

Hi All,

I'm new to the board, but have been using the byoac site over the past couple months
while I built my own MAME cabinet.

I kept a photo log of my build process which you can find here if interested....

Any comments are welcome.  I look forward to some input for my next project which
will be a stand alone juke box.

Cheers.

Jdurg:
Very nice.  Congratulations on getting it done!   :applaud:

I'm in the middle of the long journey myself and made my first "cuts" today.  Once the CP is cleaned up, I'll be posting pictures too.

I really like the green/black contrast there.

sparcade:
Thanks Jdurg.  I was a little worried how the green and black would go together, but
I think it turned out pretty good.  Good luck on your build.

Akuma:
Very nice judging from the pics - only think are the visible screws on the CP - maybe you might place some black plastic screw caps on them. Anyway, nice to see a different colour variation other than black-blue ; )

Btw: Didn't you sponsor your kid a breathing mask for sanding? ; )

sparcade:
Akuma,
I was actually trying to let the bolts show on the CP. I don't think I quite got the look I was going for with them, but there was a method to the madness.

How it was supposed to work:  I can remove just 4 bolts and the top and sides of the CP slide right off. The CP uses  6 wire plugs to plug into front wall of the cabinet which then leads back to the KeyWiz.  My thoughts were I could swap CP's out with out too much trouble.  Sort of plug and play. Of course I have not built any another CP's yet :-)

It turned out that the CP top fit snuggly enough on that I could attach it to the rest of the Cp with just one hidden screw, so it the end, I probably would have just used formica right over where those bolts are now.

Oh, the pic of my kid sanding, mostly just for show, but it made him fell good  :D
