Hagstrom/MAME Problems
« on: December 22, 2007, 03:03:12 am »
Hey folks,

I posted this in the main forum earlier but figured this is the right spot.

I'm trying to get my CP up tonight using the Hagstrom KE-USB108.  The KE-USB108 works great in Windows, all buttons/joysticks work correctly but when I get into MAME it does not.  Sometimes I can get up or down on the joystick to work if I press it enough times but other wise it's useless.  It sounds like a Windows or MAME issue and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

EDIT:  I should mention that the standard keyboard IS working in MAME.  Other usfull information:  I'm running Windows XP with all the latest patches and I've tried MAME 121b and 122b.

Thanks in advance!

I'm getting tired so I'm headed to bed.  As of right now I can get the joystick/buttons to work sporadically in MAME is I press them ALOT (for every 10-15 presses I can get one action).  It could be some typomatic setting issue but because the Hagstrom works perfectly in Windows and the normal keyboard works perfectly in MAME I'm very confused.

It could be a MAME configuration issue but I'm using a default config and I would not have expected to have to setup something special for this.

Problem Solved...

I needed to set the 'Repeat Key' option in the Hagstrom setup utility for it to work.

Christmas is back on! lol
