Will Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick work with Star Wars?

Lilwolf:

flight yokes go up and down by pushing in and out... not twisting up and down.

So it wouldn't be the same... and I bet you couldn't do it fast enough... they are designed for flight sims that you move ever 10 minutes... not 10 times a second

Lilwolf:

oh yeah... and buying a real nice starwars yoke on ebay and do any of the hacks (1ups starwars hack is probably the easiest... or replacing the pots) will cost you about 150 bucks or so...

those yokes where 500.... so go original instead

WaverBoy:

Thanks again!  I did a search for the original yoke on eBay, and all I came up with was a replacement gear for it.  :(  But, I'll keep looking.  I'd definitely pay $150 for one.  Until then, I'm sure the Dual Strike will do fine.  Why doesn't Microsoft sell them anymore, I wonder?  All reviews I read of it were glowing.

CitznFish:

I have a microsoft sidewinder 3D Pro and it works pretty damn good for star wars. it doesn't feel like the star wars yoke, but the game play is good.

Sometimes you have to search different phrases.

First link is a complete panel. Other one is just the controller.

Also. You may want to check out the broken Stun Runner sitdown. That is probably gonna go for the opening bid, and with a slight yoke modification would make a great Star Wars, ESB, Jedi, Stun Runner, Afterburner, etc mame machine.
