I'm in  Brewster, NY.  Not too far away from the Danbury, CT border.

I guess the million dollar question is - who's just into MAME and who's into mame and dedicated.  Either way there's not many of us in the area, maybe we could combine forces on a build or two.  I know in the spring when I'm done with my basement I want to build a showcase cab.

I'm building my first MAME cab.  I eventually plan to buy a Robotron arcade, but that will be way in the future.   :)  I'm pretty good at electronics and building things.  So I would not mind helping out.  Where are you located exactly?

ito bandito (the user who started this thread) has a MAME cabinet and he is becoming an arcade collector.  He has 4 machines not including the Mame cab.  I'll let him tell you what games he has.  He also has quite a console collection!

He has a retro gaming show called "RetrowareTV" (www.retrowareTV.com) where he reviews classic console games.  I plan to be more involved in future shows as well.  Right Ito?   ;D

Glad to hear that there are other "enthusiasts" in our region!

I would love to be able to get some dedicated cabinets, but I simply don't have the room for it.  I just bought my first house, and it's not exactly a mansion.  (Don't get me wrong, it's got plenty of space, but it doesn't have a huge game room that I can create and only has enough room for the one cabinet I'm building).

Anyway, I'm out in New London County about 5-minutes away from the Mohegan Sun Casino.  I'm starting out small by building the CP first to get used to my tools and the whole hobby, then I'll have the cabinet built around the CP.  It's difficult being in this part of the state since it's not really an arcade "hub", so to speak, like NYC or other major cities are.

I grew up in the area and distinctly remember the Norwichtown Mall Arcade and the Crystal Mall's Arcade.  Both those places took much of money as a youth.  ;D

There's a ton of us in the New England area.  I'm in Brattleboro, VT, which isn't far from CT.

I'm over by Gillette Stadium in MA.

FWIW, I am all dedicateds, have only a passing interest in MAME as a tool.  I do almost all vectors and pins.

I've passed through Foxborough before on my way back to CT from Walpole, MA.  (Got lost getting out of Walpole and just ended up following one road straight back into CT and eventually onto Route 12 South).  I remember the roads being quite narrow and intersecting in odd manners down in Foxborough.  Mustn't be too much fun in the winter.

All of Eastern MA is like that.  I actually don't live in Foxboro, but I do live about 5 minutes from the Stadium right by the 495/1 intersection.

I live in Middletown, CT. I've got 3 dedicated cabs currently and have plans for a huge show case MAME. If I don't get laid off (the town I work for is having budget concerns) my cab number will probably double by next school year :-)

Maybe we should plan some sort of gathering eventually, I'm sure we can pull in others from NE states

I'm from Exeter, RI. Only 2 towns from you! I'm new as well. Just starting to collect parts for a mame build. I'd love to check out that neo geo cab!

Your right down the street from me.Since i last posted on this topic i've been very busy gathering up toys and now have a small arcades worth of dedicated machines and always on the look out for more.Even converted my garage to a game room and am nearing the end of the construction. And i currently have 3 mame machines in the works.Picking up a magic sword machine tommorrow for free over in warren r.i.
Since i started on here with my neo geo i picked up i've gotten a space gun machine, turbo outrun, sega hangon, volley ball arcade,2 different baseball machines,a claw/crane machine,a few empty cabs, slot machines, and bunches of parts. So i've been bitten buy the arcade bug and just like picking up any machine and getting it runing again.
We'll have to meet up some time and maybe help each other out on a build.

Why not dig up an old post.
For some reason I thought I replied to this a while back.

I'm in CT. In New Haven county, loving life and paying taxes.

MGB - it was good seeing you again the other day. Let me know when you're in town again - I may need help moving my arcades to my new place around the corner. Finally a game room!  :-)

Yeah, let me know and I'll give you a hand moving them. Its always good to hang out and talk arcade.
On a side note, I filled out the volunteer form for retrowares event but haven't heard back. Maybe I didn't make the cut? Do you know how all that's going?

Anyone else heading to http://retroworldexpo.com/ ?

I know MGB is volunteering.  I'll be there with my Total Carnage/Smash TV machine.  I also have a buddy here at work who is going as well.  $25 a ticket in Wallingford, CT on October 3rd (Saturday).  Unless you volunteer like MGB and myself.

I'm friends with the RetrowareTV guys so it would be cool if BYOACers can go and I can introduce you all.
