HELP!!: PC Power Supply Question!!!

Damnit.....on a standard ATX style connector, which pins do I need to short out in order to make the
power supply come on when AC is applied to it???

I have a spare old 200w power supply that I intend to use soley for running some fans in my box, but I need to know which of the pins on the ATX I can short out in order to put it in an "always on" state...so when I turn on the power strip, the PS will start working....

I imagine just running a wire from one pin to the other will be sufficient, yes?

OH YES: On a standard 4 prong molex connector for your average PC accessory, the wires on mine run
Red, Black, Black, yellow.  Is that 12V, ground, ground, 5V????

Pin 14 (green) to Pin 15 (or any other black ground wire).

On the molex connector, Red is +5V and Yellow is +12V.


Oh, I also connected the two wires together with one of these.  One end of the wire tap has a blind hole, but I just drilled it out so I could connect both wires together.

I am an electrical idiot. When you short wires 14 and 15 do you clip the wires and then connect them to each other with a wire nut or do you run a wire between the two pins of these two?

Whatever works for you, man.

A 'non-destructive' way would be to use a wire tap, crimp-on variety.
