What I dont understand, is the hostility people have towards people selling Wii's.  Frustration ?

very strange.

It's not that your selling a Wii, it's that your selling it far and away for more than retail. You (and thousands of people like you) buy products knowing they are in short supply, not because you want them, but because you want to make a profit off it. Thus making the product even more in demand. In the business world it's called price gouging.

From your auction:
"You have left your christmas shopping too late and now YOU have to pay the price $$$ ! OR you can have some whinny, dissapointed children on Christmas morning ? Totally up to you. "

That attitude says that the buyer needs to cough up the cash or deal with unhappy children. Is it really hard for you to understand why this type of behavior is not considered acceptable?
Arm123:
I don’t see anything wrong with it.  Its totally legal and if someone doesn’t like my product price (or pitch / attitude) im not forcing anyone to view or buy my items.

I actually thought it would be funny to post this up.  And indeed it has been funny to watch peoples reactions.  I didn’t expect this kind of Flaming though.  I just thought it would make people chuckle and throw in an offer.  But I guess people are just frustrated from the holiday season shopping.  I really couldn’t care less, but I guess its because im looking from the sellers point of view.

I am trying to spark interest in some of my other products i am selling.  For all intents and purposes, its worked.

I like money.  I think its only fair to try and get the MAX $$$ i can for this item.  Perhaps i could have been a bit more polite about it, but then again, they are just words. There is nothing obscene about anything i have said.

But the truth is...  I’m not hard up for the money.  If it sells, it sells.  That’s why I put "best offer".  I’m not expecting to get $799.

Again, I see nothing wrong with it.

I bet he bought all the hannah montana tickets to sell at inflated prices as well.  Shame on you.

edit-i doubt someone will post their best offer if they see that price.  it will scare them away if their best price is 250 and yours is 800 or whatever you put.  now if you really want to make some money lower your prices to kill off any competition and then jack up the prices.

My problem is exactly as the folks after me stated...  you are in this for a quick buck.  What the hell did you expect coming on this newsgroup and posting something like this.  Did you actually think people here would applaude you for gouging people?

My 2 boys (aged 7 & 9) have been saving their $ for a Wii since the Wii came out (I could have bought it for them, but they are learning the value of saving this way).

They finally have the money and we cannot find any Wii's thanks to people like you!

That, my friend, is where the hostility is coming from.  I am the one that has to go from store to store with my 2 boys only to hear that some jerk-off just bought 3 of them stating that they are going on ebay as he was leaving.  I then have to see the pain (yes, it is truly pain) in the eyes of my kids!

My youngest is very sensitive and actually started crying at one store because we missed a Wii by only a couple of minutes.

Legal has nothing to do with it...  It's called ethics.
