Bender's Big Score (Major Spoilers)

<< < (3/4) > >>

Barry Barcrest:
I thought it suffered from the same problems as the simpsons movie. The first 10-15 minutes were great then it just felt like a dragged out episode. It did pick up at the end, but it felt like a lot of fill.

--- Quote from: Howard_Casto on December 05, 2007, 07:30:31 pm ---At the risk of insulting you, you have to be smart to get the show.  If you aren't in-tune with pop-culture at a near-perfect geekly level, you won't get any of the good jokes, just the less-funny regular jokes thrown in there for the "normals".

You must be real popular in the server room.

He's Howard, your companys computer really smart dude who understands stuff.

A mere reference is not funny, and I don't think they're nearly as subtle or obscure as you think they are.

In fact, I'd say the show more or less hits you over the head with them.

The rest of the show is Bender acting obnoxious and that squid guy making weird noises.

The jokes vary in their subtlety.  Some of them are hit you over the head obvious, others are so minor that you have to decifer their invented alien language from a sign that was onscreen for only a few frames in order to even see the joke.

I would not consider myself an uber geek but I have been programming for 15 years and I find the show funny I am not particularly a fan...

My friend Mario on the other hand, was at best buy within 15 minutes of me telling him about the DVD... Interesting thing is that Mario is a diesel mechanic who enjoys riding atvs.... And he could kick my butt with his little finger....

btp2k2:
Nice...I've been wondering about this....I saw it on Netflix and added it....I'm a huge fan of the show, been hoping a movie would come out
