The wait for a job is (potentially) over - thank God

Interesting where this thread's going...
At any rate, I jumped the gun a bit - current science teacher will finish out this current semester, so the EARLIEST I could probably hope to start would be first of the year....and they have not made a decision yet (though they said the ball was in my court and I told them officially to consider me Monday).
In the meantime, I keep looking I suppose. Am inquiring after a couple of volleyball positions, one here near home and one in North Dakota. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Recently I've tried Circuit City, Best Buy, Borders, Toys R Us, etc. and at least 30 schools in my county alone. Nothing....I mean nothing.
Here's the funny part - if I was supposed to quit teaching, which some friends have suggested, looks like something else would open up, right? Well guess what - only jobs I get interviews for are for TEACHING! Want to talk confused person here - I'm just at a loss.
Didn't mean to ramble so much - just find getting all this off my chest good medicine. In the mean time, keep good thoughts for us - we're not out of the woods yet!

Pinball,
I am CONSTANTLY looking for work. I'm not just sitting at home on my assets. Temporary, full time, whatever. Right now it's at a point that whoever comes calling for my services first gets me. If you'll read my posts again, you'll see that I have been, it's just that for reasons I do not understand I can't get anybody to hire me for temporary stuff even. I applied with a temp agency here in town and they have not called with even a SNIFF at a match (mercifully I'm not having to pay them anything or I'd be really ticked!)!
There are quite a number of places to look for teaching jobs here - I say this just to state that they are so numerous I can't keep up....and may have missed a job as a choral director for a local private school. That WILL make me sick if I did (was posted on Nov. 13th - hopefully still open).
