I'd say the wiimote works closer to the screen (led bar) than the Topgun does though.

I also was wondering if the lcd topguns could be modded to make them work closer by changing the sensor and swapping on the led's for a more powerfull MCD rating.

what if you just hacked the "sensor" bar and put the IR LEDS closer together?  I think that's why the gun gets lost because it has to see more that one LED to triangulate its position.  BTW, the "sensor" bar is passive.. it doesnt sense anything.  It should be called an emitter bar but.. marketing? ???

I saw someone claim he used candles instead of the sensor bar. Guess that would be easy to test then. Just put some candles on the TV and move them closer  :P
