I found my copy of Eye Candy 4000 so I've been playing around with the chrome filter a bit.  I still can't get anything that looks nearly as cool or professional as your marquee text.  Do you have any tips, or a specific procedure that you use for this filter?  Thanks

What I did for the text was this:
I used SF ATARIAN SYSTEM font with the tracking way low, like -50 or -75.  Looks kind of like ARIAL NARROW.
Then I applied the standard chrome filter using the light from above and the outdoor texture.
Then I rasterized the type later, and added a Gradient Overlay: 100% opaque, Blend mode of Color Burn, and used a basic Black to White gradient Linear 90 degree pattern.
To blend it a bit with the background I applied a Bevel and Emboss filter which gave it some cool color effects around the edges - Here are the settings for the gradient:

....Then for the Bevel and Emboss here are those settings.  Note only looks good with some type of variable-color pic in the background --Exclusion and Color Burn need sometype of image to work with as opposed to Darken or Normal.  Hope it helps!

AceTKK:
Very interesting.  Thanks for sharing your technique.
