Control Panel overlay or not?

<< < (2/2)

Agent Davis:
I also had a panel before I made my own that had plexi on it.  It had a few carriage bolts holding it in.  If your cp in rectangular, one in each corner should do it.  Your controls will hold it down too.

DanU:
Something to keep in mind, picking graphics for your cab is sort of like choosing a tattoo. Think about it, it's going to be there for a while. That's why my whole cabinet is still just black! :P

ArcadeFX:
Slug, ss you can tell from the picture that are no bolts visiable at all.  I think this looks much better.  Yes, it is held down with the buttons. I have two kids ages 8 and 4 and it is holding up just great.

I would cut all straight edges with a plixiglass cutting knife.  You jus score the hell out of it then snap it.  It works very nice.   For the rounded corners I used a rotary saw.  I bought one for about 60 bucks.  I also used this to cut all the holes in my plexi for buttons, joysticks, spinner, and trackball.  Here is a link to the saw I bought.
