Need input for a VERY IMPORTANT new cabinet!
« on: June 28, 2002, 12:59:33 pm »
New idea!  And VERY important!  I need some info on how to do it!

I'm want to build an arcade for the bathroom!

Why?  Why not!

I was talking to my boss about moving the arcade machine from one part of the house to another.  He said that I should move it into the bathroom, but then he said that only a cocktail table would work..

Well... now I want one!  My wife is going out of town for 3 weeks, and I might be able to finish it before she gets home.

I don't have much room, I need it to move in and out somehow so I can play it sitting down... and can still sit down...

It should be vaguely water proof... (and if it's stored behind the seat... it needs to be splash proof... have kids)

Needs to be able to play those adult games.... ahh...never mind...

I'm thinking of a notebook or a LCD screen.  Then some kind of controller that moves, but maybe sits on your lap..

I would love to get idea...

thanks

What games will it play?
Would it happen to play Concentration,  Aggravation,  Kerplunk?

Wouldn't a laptop solve the problem anyway?

First off, you are nuts!  If you take a poo that takes so long you can play arcade games I suggest going to the doctor....

Can ya add one of those wall toilet paper holders to that cab design? Just below the control panel would be good.

All I have to do is only add games that I suck at... so no problem there.

Laptop???? Might as well get rid of my arcade machine and just use a keyboard..... bla... now hacking a laptop and a ipac might do it!

But I love the TP despenser!  I was thinking that I could create something that would attach to any tp roll holder... so you could travel with it!

I also would need to have the joystick to be waterproof enought to use lysol every so often.

Ok you've officially gone insaine.  One thing to think about... think of the first and last things people are going to be touching in the bathroom and they'll have their grubby hands on the control panel inbetween those two things.  Can you say stinky joysticks?

I think it might be best to put the computer in another room, and run a LCD screen, that is designed for hazordus locations, primarly where rooms where splash and steam equipment is being used (since bathrooms contains lots of water (sink, shower, etc)., mounted to the wall.

Next, it might be best to use a controller that is made out of water-resistant material, with a cable that is waterproof.

Also, I suggest a GFI protector on the entire system.

Why don't you make a portable machine with a palmtop or embedded comp, then you can bring it along when you really feel backed up...  :P

Some game suggestions, in keeping with the theme: <grade_school_mode_on> Pooyan, Peepee & Bibis, Afterburner, Assteroids, Bomb Jack, Bubble Bobble, Centipeed, Cosmic Chasm, Logger, Hard Drivin, Kangapoo, Load Runner, Missile Command, Moon Patrol, Out Runs, Pitfall, Poo Position, D.U.N.G. Runner, Ace Invaders, Tailgunner, etc.

Actually, if you're that bored, you can just use the bowl to make a nifty game of Battlesh-- ah, never mind...   :-X

Quick note... I was joking  ;D

If I was going to build a machine in the bathroom, it would be a webbrowser, or maybe a wordprocessor for writing poems

I would like to move this in the direction of naming the arcade machine for the restroom.  BattleSXXX is great!

Also, here's a product that might be useful with it's contruction..

HMR  (High Moisture Resistance) MDF board
http://www.nelsonpine.co.nz/products/hmrthinlinepage1.htm

Used in saunas and bathrooms everywhere...

As for a name, how 'bout... the C.R.A.P.P.E.R
(ComputeR Arcade Porta Potty EmulatoR) ::)

I'd just love to hear someone say, "I'm gunna go play on the C.R.A.P.P.E.R!"
