$.25 to $.05 coin mech conversion
« on: March 17, 2002, 08:53:02 pm »
I have a coin mech from an original millipede cabinet. It works great, but I am thinking of converting it to accept nickels instead of quarters. Is this possible? is there anyone who has tried something similar? Any pointers would be appreciated.

P.S. Check out my mame cabinet at : http://www.tellarite.net/new-cabinet.php

Thanks,

Mechs are pretty standardized so you can switch them around?
I'm getting nickel mechs in a few weeks.

I hacked mine to take any coin.  It was really easy once I figured out the hacking mechanism... straws!

I opend my mech up, took out one piece that killed the wrong size coins, then I added staws to give a path to the proper exit point.

I now have the biggest piggy bank  :)
