| How do you play IKARI WARRIORS (mame)? |

| ARTIFACT:
... I understand that this game had a "different" control setup (joystick with button?) MaLa reports it as a "paddle" game, but my spinner does nothing See my project thread for pics of my cabinet and CP. I have: 2 x U360 joysticks 2 x 6 game buttons 2 x Start buttons (obviously) 1 x trackball (Happ 3" illuminated) 1 x Turbo Twist 2 spinner Soooo... I just want to play even 1 player... How can I configure it so I can control the fire direction? Right now I can control position, fire with button 1, but it always fires "up" (forward) thanks! |

I remember twisting the original joystick (which was sorta clicky) to set the orientation of the firing. I wonder if you can configure the spinner to do that. :dunno |

Ikari Warriors is one of my all time favorite games ever. It's probably the only game I ever actually finished. And yes, the original game you could rotate the handle of the joystick to determine where you aim. I know you can buy joysticks like this but don't know what they are called. You could probably rig up a spinner but that would be hard since you'd have to move with on hand on the joystick, aim with another hand on the spinner, and fire with... umm... Anyway, you get the idea. |

Happs Rotaries with a druin's board is what I use. No replacement. And yes, I use it on player one with great results. Not only do I like it for that, but as a fighting stick and all around pair for the supers in dual arcade mode like Robotron, I have no regrets. Check out my pics in the project department page 3....(shameless plug. ;D) On a side note, I used to get by with a spinner at extremely low settings and then use a Top fire...but that even sucked to. Rotatries (non-optical for me) are the only way to get the authentic feel...plus you get two more programmable buttons(left twist, and right twist) for other purposes! |

If you didn't have a 12 way rotary, couldn't you theoretically map one button to rotate left and one to rotate right? A big different but still workable, no? |
