Very nice! Small, but still very "arcadey". How portable are they (ie can you lift them without killing your back)?

thanks :)

they are "good" portable, because the small size and the weight is only 24 kilograms (about 53 lbs)

from ebay germany:

http://cgi.ebay.de/Monitor-10-Zoll-Bridge-Server-Kassen-Monitor-Top-1A_W0QQitemZ190165116981QQihZ009QQcategoryZ9689QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD4VQQcmdZViewItem

they will ship worldwide, but i think the problem ist the high shipping-cost outside germany.

Awesome. I have a little experience with this bartop design. Let me ask you a few questions...

was it a pain in the ass getting everything inside? My laptop just barely fit, and the exhaust fan you have is totally essential.

How do you add credits?

Is that 1/2", if so, did you use MDF?

How wide are they?

I just took a look at the other pictures you posted. I like how you mounted the PC. I put my power strip up top and mounted my PC sideways next to the monitor.

it was pain in the ass to get everything into that minicase :D  I used every little space. for my next arcadeproject I will use a lcd-monitor and an old laptop ;)

the temps inside the case are ok due to the 120mm fan and the airholes.

How do you add credits?

to add credits I use "shiftkeys" like ultimarcs ipac. for example: press 1player button + button1 = 1 credit... you can use shiftbuttons with the very nice xpadder-tool ( www.xpadder.com ) .

I used MDF and it's in your size about 0,63".

If anyone knows of a US source for these monitors, please post it.  I would love to pick up a few.

WOW, well done... absolutely awesome bartops... its a project to be proud of for sure.

I'm currently building two bartops of my own which are a different style, but I'd be interested in knowing how you did a few things:
> Where did you mount the volume control you mentioned? I cant seem to tell from the photos.
> How did you secure the USB plugs into the MDF? I assume these are for extra players (I'm doing similar)
> Where did you get the artwork for that Bubble Bobble Bezel? Do you have an original file you'd be willing to share? I love bobble bobble and I've been looking for artwork that would suit one of my bartops.
> What do the buttons on the front of the control panel do?
> What is that mesh with the circle holes in it that you put over the ventilation holes at the back?

Again, well done!

thanks, your project is also very very nice!

- I mounted the volume control at the back (silver volume knob), the yellow button is the pc-start button.

- the usb-pcb is secured with 2 screws at the MDF distance keeper. I will use it for second player games or backups:

- you can find the bubble bobble bezel at localarcade.com

- the buttons on the front are player1 and player2 selectbuttons (?)

- did you mean the fan dust protection filter?

Ahh thanks, I see the volume control now... in the other photos I saw that knob was blury so it kind of looked like a bulb or something.

Regarding the mesh, I meant the stuff covering the 4 big circles (shown in your second last photo above).

Those are great little bartops, nice work.

Your ebay link above is a little long for folks with lower resolution on their monitors (like me) if you could shorten it we wouldn't have to scroll side to side to read.  Here's how to shorten them if you don't know.

When you use the url feature on the forum instead of putting the web address in between the two boxes like this:
Code: [Select]
www.webaddress.comput it in the first box with an = before it and then put a title for the link in between the boxes like this:
Code: [Select]
The name of the link here
The finished product will look and behave like this
Ebay Link

Again, those are simply fantastic looking little cabinets.  If I had friends or family that would enjoy them I would definitely try to copy them for gifts.

Those look absolutely fantastic!  :applaud: I've been walking around with the idea to make a "scale model" gameroom and this looks perfect for that! One question (sorry, I'm a n00b), where did you get the plans for the cabinets? Did you use the original and scale them down or did you make your own? My plan is to make the cabinets for Galaga and Pac Man (for starters) but instead of building in a PC board in each I want to use one PC as a server and use the cabinets as "ultra thin clients" for input and output only. This will keep down the cost and helps in portability. I have the full size plans but yours look so much nicer  8)
Wish list: Galaga, Pacman, Pooyan, Star Wars cockpit, Gauntlet, Tron

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

WOW, even smaller than it looked before.  Really cool.

I forgot about the recent modify policy change.  Oh, well.  It looks like the rule may not last long anyway.  Thanks for looking into it though.

I put a ledwiz with rgbleds and fully transparent pushbuttons in my "bigger" bartop.
Works great with gameex and headkazes LEDplugin.

i think i will install it to the other bartops, too ;)
