A small part of me died when I read this.
shardian:
My opinion is who cares? There are so many other better and cheaper options to service the NES, that I doubt anyone has used Nintendo's services in over 10 years.
knave:
Now, instead of blowing into slots, we can play with our Wii's.
*edit*
Come to think of it my NES still works fine...though I haven't touched it in years.
psik0tik:
Still it was aloooooong time before they ended support. So in a way....the original nes died.
TOK:
Wow. I figured support for the NES ended in the mid 90's. Thats actually pretty admirable that they kept it going this long. There is pretty much a limitless supply of these things. Go to a flea market, and you'll find many of them packed with 15 to 20 games for 15 bucks or so.
ChadTower:
They haven't been taking NES units in for repair, or selling parts, for many years now. I tried to get connectors from them... no dice. I have no idea what they're talking about when they say "support" just ended.
