I think you are missing the "overnight" part. Shipping a frankenpanel overnight coast to coast could easily cost that much.

Should you have paid that? No way.

Should you have issued a charge back and told Slikstik you would re-purchase once it cleared so you could reset the claim timer? Yes.
Game-boi:
I would have to disagree...it would seem simple to issue a chargeback then "just get your money back" and re-buy. However, "Slikstik" or whomever's account it is (it ain't Christian or Slikstik's), doesn't have "Buyer's Assurance."
What does that mean? It means that if he/she/it stiffs you, Paypal will freeze their account and send you funds if available. However, would you imagine that there are funds available in that account? Course not, so basically, you are screwed with Paypal. Why would someone screwing people keep funds in account that could be taken back?

I know for a fact...

Moral of the story...Paypal sucks...know your terms of agreement before you buy ANYTHING online with ANY purchase method.

If you get screwed, file a paypal claim and win, paypal pays you back up to $1000 minus $25. I was screwed on a $25.78 transaction once. I won, and sure enough got my 78 cents. I then called my CC company and got the rest back.

When I say chargeback, I mean go directly do your credit card company.

since the majority of this thread is about being ripped off by SlikStik, I'd assume paying extra for shipping is still better than paying the right amount for the control panel that never arrived... so i guess they over paid for air, yet you guys want to discuss my cp shipping costs? I would like to add that I have shipped things I sold on ebay, and i have never been able to ship anything from the westcoast to the eastcoast for 40 bucks that was as heavy as a quad controller with all the joys/trackball/etc... but that's just me.. not a shipping pro.

Yes, but then they couldn;t use paypal, or as soon as a deposit was made (sale) i'd get the money, right? That's what I did a few years back to a guy who ripped me off. i won the dispute, then a long time later i got the money so he could use paypal again.
