I got some news Christian emailed me, saying he was taking over, and pullin things out his own pocket if he has to, he told me he would pick my panel up 1-2 days after x-mas and have it right out I will keep my fingers crossed, and keep you guys updated :) 1st good sign of life  |

Well, the last two posts, especially the one from Scott at Mamemarquee is giving me cautious optimism. I know Christian/SlikStik is under a huge amount of heat, but my complaints that I have filed vanish the day my panel (or refund) arrives. |
| Arcadereactor:
We here at Arcade Reactor E-zine asked SlikStik for an official statement about an upcoming article dedicated to the company, we were simply told, "No comment at this time." So, we decided to pull the article until the March issue. Actually, it was this forum, this very thread that prompted me to start Arcade Reactor E-zine. I wanted to let people know how big this is and what is going on. SlikStik's action can either hurt the arcade community or they can straighten up and continue to be a great contributer. So, thanks to Slikstik, for getting this new project started. (indirectly) |

Let's see if I've got this right ... * Slikstik fails to deliver big ticket items in a timely manner. * People post about it and complain. * Other people defend Slikstik. * Still more people speak out against Slikstik. * Christian says everything will be OK. * People are somewhat mollified. Any bets as to whether we get to do it all again in a few weeks ? ;) |

--- Quote from: Mameroom on December 20, 2007, 02:01:35 pm ---I apologize that I have not chimed in since my original post... <snip> --- End quote --- First, I received a postcard from "Essex Special Civil Part, Hall of Records - Essex County" concerning my lawsuit vs. SlikStik and it read: "A summons was issued 12-20-07 and a non-jury trial has been scheduled for this case on 02-20-2008 at 9:00 AM. Bring all records & witnesses. Please report to: Judge Judge, Court Room: 301H." I'm hoping that the judge's last name isn't "Judge", if for no other reason than the fact that he/she must have been teased incessantly in law school! (I'm guessing that a judge won't be assigned until much closer to the court date). Anyway, it looks like I'm taking a road trip to the Trenton, NJ area in mid-February. I'm going to drive out (8 hours, yikes!) during the day, but will spend the night so I can get some sleep after that long drive and be fresh to face the judge the next morning. Any members from the Trenton area than can recommend a good, yet cheap, hotel for just the one night? And where is the courthouse? I have TWO addresses! :-( Concerning Scott's post, I would trust his products without a single thought, however Christian claims that he was only a SlikStik employee, but the way he apparently treated other members of this site indicates to me that his lack of customer service skills weren't in any way due to his association with his former employers and would most likely continue with any new venture he might attempt. I'd encourage everyone to buy from members such as Scott (MAMERoom), Randy (GroovyGameGear) and Andy (Ultimarc). I finally found the funds to build my own panel and have used parts from all three of the aforementioned individuals and am more than pleased with their professionalism. On a brighter, happier note, my control panel is almost done! The cabinet itself is a MAMERoom Ultimate MK2 and the panel blank is one of Scott's 4-player designs. Most of the buttons, joysticks and spinner were purchased from GroovyGameGear.com and finally the interface (IPAC-4) and player 1 stick (UltraStik 360) are from Ultimarc. I was amazed to get a great price from a vendor on eBay for the Happ 3" Trackball w/USB interface to wrap things up and even bought a bunch of blank button fillers for the few button spots that were empty courtesy of LizardLickAmusements.com). I actually tried to 'borrow' some 18/2 wire from work, but ended up buying 3 spools of wire from Radio Shack as well as some more quick disconnects (eventually ran out of the ones I bought from Ultimarc), which I'm doing tomorrow (thank god for a 4-day weekend!). I'll post a FINAL image of the whole cabinet when it's complete before the end of the year. Anyway, this forum has been a great resource for those of us who have suffered through this whole experience with SlikStik and I hope that we'll all be able to find some sort of satisfaction through the court system. All the best, Onyx |
