site, as you suggested, I never heard back from you?  I left voice
mails, sent e-mails... all without a reply.  You didn't even acknowledge
my direct and clear request to have the original order canceled after
weeks of inactivity on your side.

Yet... you're now offering the exact same thing on eBay, and saying
that it would ship within a day or two.

Please explain.

I have not gotten a phone call from Slikstik since the last one I discussed in the forums above (back in July), despite leaving numerous messages requesting for them to call me back. I have also e-mailed numerous times, and have no received a response since they last updated me (which required me to have a friend who lives in New Jersey to drive by their shop). Supposedly, this whole delay has been due to a backordered trackball, yet on this last update the trackballs had finally arrived, and now it is supposedly the overlay. I have no idea why--after months of waiting for a trackball--they didn't use some of my $2500 to go ahead and have everything else ready (as they promised in several e-mails. One stated specifically that my order would ship the day after they received the trackballs).

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and they have not heard back from Slikstik. I have filed a complaint with the Nutley, New Jersey Division of Consumer Protection. The head of the department, AnnMarie Nicolette, got a prompt callback from Christian Stango (Slikstik owner), who informed her that he had no idea I had been trying to contact him, etc., etc. I then forwarded her every single e-mail I had from Slikstik that directly refuted his statements to her (in other words, he directly lied to her). She confronted him with this, and since she has not had a phone call returned from Slikstik. Furthermore, Slikstik had its New Jersey business license (license #0600171819) revoked on January 16, 2007, for failing to file their annual report for several years in a row. Since then, no attempt has been made to re-establish their license.

This is terribly unfortunate. Christian Stango told me on the phone back in July that he was good for his word, and that no matter what happened, he would make good on every single order with Slikstik (this was back when I thought they had gone out of business). He said this exact same thing to the Nutley representative (before he stopped returning her phone calls). I can only assume that this, too, was a lie.

Again--it is my hope this will keep someone else from falling into the same trap I did. I highly recommend that if you have been slighted or had trouble with Slikstik in the past that you call AnnMarie Nicolette with the Nutley, New Jersey Division of Consumer Protection and voice your complaint. Her number is 973-284-4900 x2421. I also highly recommend that if you plan to order from Slikstik that you think the matter through carefully. I would recommend researching Slikstik on the Better Business Bureau website (where they have not responded to any complaints leveled against them and have an unsatisfactory rating), or Check with the Nutley, New Jersey Division of Consumer Protection and see what they have to say.

I have no idea what posts you're talking about (I've been off the boards for a while), but if she gets several complaints she intends to get the New Jersey Attorney General involved in this.
