--- Quote from: btp2k2 on November 04, 2007, 10:32:26 am ---Telling customers that product x was faulty and as a result delayed shipping is a very good way to get in trouble legally. Even though the intention wasn't bad towards product x, it could still be viewed as a slanderous comment. They are treading on very thin ice. That said, everyone in the world knows that Andy's products are top notch and of the highest quality around. To blame an Ipac on your own stupidity is...well....just stupid. --- End quote --- Agreed - This may be taken the wrong way, but I've been on the scene for a long time - five years, 10 years - ??? There have been some defective I-PAC's or at least MiniPacs over the years. Andy mentioned a bad batch of chips at one point in that time. He also either sent out replacement boards at no charge or sent out replacement chips in a timely manner if they were user replaceable. I can't remember any problems with the boards since at least 3 or 4 years ago, maybe longer. If Andy is saying there is no current problem with the I-PACs, I trust that a lot more than Christian saying that is the holdup on the panels. XtraSmiley - Good to know the Ultimarc Rotary board now ships with the proper chip for MAME - I saw the thread were the newer chips were evaluated, but never saw that they got incorporated into production. Just my 2 cents. |

Chris, Any updated regarding your order? I understand you are in Canada so I can see it atking awhile, but is the tracking showing any progress? |

Also, Andy from Ultimarc is very cool and quickly sent me an updated Rotary chip when SS sent the older version that doesn't work well in MAME. From England it only took me about a week to get it. Thanks for the good service Andy! --- End quote --- Yeah, there is no doubt Andy is the bees knees. I ordered parts from SS the same day I ordered a minipac from Andy. I got the Minipac in about 5 days. The SS parts, despite being in the same country, came 2 weeks later. |

Unfortunately I didn't read this thread before I posted my order. So now, here I am, out almost $800 bucks with no product to show for it. I thought I would post my saga: 08-August-2007 -Emailed SS with a product question regarding the Quad panel. Received response from Paul at SS same day. 18-August-2007 -Had problems ordering the CO2 CP via the web. Sent a question with my experience, and received a response from Paul same day. Paul was very cordial and responsive. In fact, when I figured out what the ordering problem was (browser related) he seemed very sincere and apologetic regarding my ordering issues. He promised to report the browser issue to the web developers. -We resolved the ordering issue and my order was placed at 6:00PM CDT on Aug-18. 04-September-2007 -Sent an inquiry email asking when the expected manufacture and delivery time would be, as the web site stated between 2-5 weeks. Received a response from Paul (same day) stating that it would be another 2-3 weeks before my CP shipped. Accept this answer as it has only been two weeks since my order. 27-September-2007 -Now 5 weeks since my order was placed, I sent an email asking for the status. Paul responded (same day) stating that their prouduction has been delayed "quite a bit" due to a supplier backorder of trackballs. Paul quoted another 2-4 weeks for production delivery. Once again, being the charitable person I am, I gave the benefit to SS and decided to wait for further communication. 19-October-2007 -Sent a professional, yet direct email providing a summary of my order experience and to ask what the current status was. No response received. 05-November-2007 -Sent a VERY direct email giving them an ultimatem: They have one week to respond with a sufficient status update for my product or I will demand a FULL REFUND and report them to the BBB. Still waiting response... 06-November-2007 -Found a order inquiry number (973-447-0951) and called, received an automated operator rejecting my call because CallerID is blocked. -Called back from a standard land-line. Received machine. Left a message with order number and my dissatisfaction. No response as of yet. |
