Hi guys, Is there any similar product to this smart strip that I can buy locally? Like, at a Lowes? My understanding is that the smart strip powers up whatever item is plugged into it without needing to push a on/off button on the device. Is this correct? I have gone on ebay and looked for a smart strip but have not had any luck. Thanks Peter |

I think you can find them at sears. they are commonly used in wood shops to turn on dust collectors when a dust making tool is turned on. i know my local sears has them in stock. they are in the tool section. |

yeah, i got mine at sears, they were located near the power tools. it is called the Craftsman Auto Switch and will cost you around $20. they work very well. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00924031000P?vName=Tools&keyword=Craftsman+Auto+Switch |

Only extra outlets on that thing? Can you just plug a normal surge protector into that then for speakers and other misc stuff? Don't see why it wouldn't work I guess. |
