IIRC, they are the same roms, but they have different file names. I believe I had to go in and just rename the MAME roms to correspond to what vivanonno was looking for (which I think was in the readme file, or one of the other files that comes with vivanonno). So unless I'm remembering it incorrectly, you just need to take the time to rename the ones it sounds like you already have. |

Am I missing something? Here's the contents of rv2.zip for vivanonno: --- Code: ---rv1ccr-h.bin rv1ccr-l.bin rv1cg0.bin rv1cg1.bin rv1cg2.bin rv1cg3.bin rv1cg4.bin rv1cg5.bin rv1cg6.bin rv1cg7.bin rv1data.bin rv1pot-l0.bin rv1pot-l1.bin rv1pot-l2.bin rv1pot-l3.bin rv1pot-m0.bin rv1pot-m1.bin rv1pot-m2.bin rv1pot-m3.bin rv1pot-u0.bin rv1pot-u1.bin rv1pot-u2.bin rv1pot-u3.bin rv1wav0.bin rv1wav1.bin rv1wav2.bin rv1wav3.bin rv2.txt rv2prgllb.bin rv2prglmb.bin rv2prgumb.bin rv2prguub.bin --- End code --- Here's what Maws says Mame is looking for: --- Code: ---rv2prllb.4d rv2prlmb.2d rv2prumb.8d rv2pruub.6d c71.bin c71.bin c74.bin rv1data.6r rv1cg0.1a rv1cg1.1c rv1cg2.1d rv1cg3.1e rv1cg4.1f rv1cg5.1j rv1cg6.1k rv1cg7.1n rv1ccrl.5a rv1ccrh.5c rv1potl0.5b rv1potl1.4b rv1potl2.3b rv1potl3.2b rv1potm0.5c rv1potm1.4c rv1potm2.3c rv1potm3.2c rv1potu0.5d rv1potu1.4d rv1potu2.3d rv1potu3.2d rv1wav0.10r rv1wav1.10p rv1wav2.10n rv1wav3.10l rr1gam.2d rr1gam.3d rr1gam.4d rv1eeprm.9e --- End code --- Seems like an awful lot of work when the vivanonno roms are easy to find. Maybe not. Easy enough to change the extension to "bin" with one command and then hand rename several to put a dash in the appropriate spot. On the other hand, there's only two roms to download, taking a couple of minutes. |

But my point was just that you *CAN* use the MAME roms if that's what you have. On a similar topic, and bringing the discussion back to Mjolnir, does anyone know if there's something I need besides the MAME roms to play Starblade? Seems like that's all you'd need, since Mjolnir is a MAME derivative, but I can't get it to work. I get the dos box popping up, but it closes so quickly that I can't read it to see what the error is! |

Thanks! With that, I can say that, with Mjolnir, both Starblade and Propcycle work very smoothly on my old P4 1.8 gHz Dell. Far better than under MAME .119: no stuttering, no choppiness, nothing. The emulator's looking great so far! |
