License plates as carry-on.

(1/3) > >>

paigeoliver:
Anyone know if I can take license plates on a plane? I am considering buying a car that is 500 miles away and would be taking license plates with me. Would they be a problem in my carry-on luggage?

I can't seem to find a satisfactory answer to this question.

jbox:
A slice of metal, in carry-on luggage? Let us know when you get out of the big house...  :timebomb:

paigeoliver:
Never mind, I came to my senses and decided not to buy the car.

missioncontrol:
you could just tie a sting from on of the top holes to the other, wear it around your neck and claim it a religious garment...

Or carry it with a bottle of water on. They will be so distracted with the dangerous water that they will overlook the plate....

FYI INAL so these actions are really not recommended

danny_galaga:

doesnt the car come with number plates? and whats the point of having them if you could legally just put on any old plates onto any old car?

all that aside, just have them in the regular luggage rather than carry on. problem solved...
