| kidsball usb hack again |
| (1/1) |
| Teebor:
I've been trying to convert my panel over to USB completely and suceeded so far, but I have one small problem, I bought a usb to serial adapter for my kidsball and windows does not see it once connected. So that only leaves me with one last option as I see it and thats to hack the kidsball on to my opti-pac as a second trackball. BUT 1up's site is no longer (or moved) anyone got a copy of the hack that he did? OR Does anyone know how to get windows to forceably see a serial mouse when it is plugged in to a usb adapter? I know the COM port and I am pretty sure the adapter is working correctly. Any help is great cheers :) |

I guess no one has advice or a copy of the old direction on how to do this then? |

Right, wired up with parts from a donated old NEC Mouse. I have ground where I should have ground and I have 5v where I should have 5 volt. Measuring between X1,X2 and ground leaves me with 5V which seems to be the same as the existing trackball I have hooked up to the OptiPac but I get no life from it at all. Tried changing the encoder wheel but still nothing. Any ideas? Or did I get lucky with the optics showing the right voltage, but unlucky in that they are just not compatible? |
